ABOUT ME

Hey, I’m Marta Ambrozej! (that’s am-bro-jay!)

I'm a quirky freelance artist and writer with a strong teaching and sales background, passion for research and flair for storytelling. I write in a chatty tone, blending playful creativity with professional precision to craft engaging, easy to read content - and I’d love to bring some warmth and personality to your brand

Need a website refresh, must-read articles, or product descriptions that sell? No sloppy copies here – I will match your brand’s style perfectly and ✨make the words work their magic✨!

🌿

Why choose me?

Well, they say teachers, creatives, researchers, and salespeople make the best copywriters - and lucky for you, I’m all four! With a unique blend of skills and experience, I can connect with your audience, grab their attention and get the results. Here’s why:

CREATIVITY: It’s not just a skill - it’s my default setting and superpower.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Have you seen my illustrations? That level of precision extends to everything else I do - whether it’s crafting the perfect sentence, or dispensing prescriptions at a pharmacy. (Yes, I did it!)

UNDERSTANDING THE AUDIENCE: With twenty years of experience in education and customer service, I’ve mastered the art of connection with anyone. Empathy is my superpower, allowing me to tune into their emotions, needs and motivations - and then subtly influence actions in a way that's simply irresistible...

MAKING THINGS HAPPEN: Trust me, it takes some serious skills to make a group of kids to do what you want them to do. Herding 30 eight-year-olds on a field trip across the city using public transport? Well, that’s a next-level persuasion! Honestly, with such experience, selling anything is just easy-peasy.

COMMUNICATION: From explaining why not to stick your finger into a socket, to convincing someone that an overpriced jacket is a fashion steal of the century, I know how to grab attention and get results!

SHARING KNOWLEDGE: Teaching is all about simplifying big ideas for certain audience. Add a relatable story and a dash of humour, and voilà - it’s both engaging and memorable! I used this trick in the classroom and at the V&A - turning team presentations into fun learning sessions everyone enjoyed. It also works wonders in content writing!

RESEARCH: As a history buff, I often start with Google... and end up in some dusty archives on the other side of the country! I’m relentless in picking up threads and leads and won't stop until having everything I need. Back in my sales days, I never relied on standard product information books - my own research into selling points did all the magic. Ka-ching!

🌿

Not sure how it all happened, but over the past two decades, I've been a teacher, shop assistant, small business owner, workers union representative, pharmacy dispenser and blogger. From art centre and  luxury home accessories store to one of the biggest and busiest museums in the world, and then a tiny pharmacy - I did it all.

Result? A unique mix of skills and experience that makes me an expert in adaptability, effortlessly connecting with any audience!

Honestly, how many people you know can effortlessly do ALL OF THESE:

• inspire a primary-schooler to spend two hours making Christmas ornaments
• get a bunch of elderly ladies to fall in love with watercolours
• explain the link between Romanticism and Impressionism to a group of teenagers
• convince a tourist with limited English to buy a £500 limited edition print
• turn a pocketbook shopper into a £350 worth set of art albums buyer
• assist artists, actors and celebrities at museum events
• help royalty to find the perfect book on Arts and Crafts
• chat with a pharmacy patient waiting for their daily dose of methadone

🌿

Originally from Lodz (Poland), in 2015 I packed up and moved to London - mostly for its epic Victorian cemeteries and dark history hotspots (yup!). After a decade here, I decided it’s time to turn my passion for photography and uncovering spooky secrets of bygone era into a hauntingly entertaining blog WHISPERS OF THE FORGOTTEN.

I live in a tiny flat with my husband (a classical musician who somehow ended up in fintech) and our pet snails. We’re a nerdy, creative duo enjoying quiet moments at home and occasional piano recitals in the living room.

🌿

Oh, you should probably know that:
• I have an art school diploma and high level of aesthetic sensitivity mixed with Canva design skills you may want to use
•  I also have MA in education and 10 years of successful experience in that field
•  I am a certified copywriter (with distinction!) QLS level 4
•  I started learning English at the age of 5 and got my Certificate of Advanced English (level C1)  in 2004
•  I  have 3 years of experience in e-commerce management (Etsy shop with only 5.0 reviews!) and over a year in WordPress CMC (I built my blog from scratch all by myself), playing with SEO

More details on my LinkedIn profile! :)

Also, if you're looking for someone who brings deep, personal insight from lived experience, I’m more than happy to write about:
• life on emigration
• histamine intolerance
• well-being, neurodiversity and inclusion (or lack them) in workplaces

🌿

Wow, since you went that far, I'll tell you in secret that I love:  slow and quiet days • sofa nesting with soft blanket and tea • snails, ducks and squirrels • vintage florals • ruins and abandoned buildings • old cemeteries • archival newspapers • Victorian aesthetic • autumnal colours • summer in the Polish countryside • non-existing English winter

Just write to me, so I can write something awesome for you! :) Copywriting or content writing - you name it, I do it. Come on, my keyboard has never been that ready and the tea is getting cold...
